District Nurses/ West Neighbourhood Team
(Primary Care Professionals) are a helpful link between the Practice, patients, and those recently discharged from hospital. They are based at Bentham Road Health Centre and they can be contacted via the following telephone numbers:

Health Visitor
(Primary Care Professional)–Julia Hoyle. Gives advice on health care for new mothers, pre school children, the elderly and handicapped. The Health Visitor is available via the Montague Health Centre switchboard, tel: 263631 and also via various Drop-in centres in the locality.

Midwifery Services/Maternity Care
(Primary Care Professionals). The Lead Midwife is Pam Dewhurst. Our midwives work as part of a team  from Queens Park Hospital, (The Woodfold Midwives).

They provide care for women before, during and after delivery, both on the hospital ward and at home following discharge. They will coordinate referrals, counselling, investigations and results.

Queries regarding midwifery care can be attended to at the Practice on Thursday mornings between 8.30am and 9.30am, or directly at the antenatal clinic at Queens Park Hospital. Tel: 293925. The Antenatal clinics occur weekly every Thursday at Noon but your first booking appointment may be on a Monday.

As a result of restrictions on Midwife availability, our Antenatal clinics have been combined with another local general practice’s and occurs within the other practice’s consultation room within the same Health centre. The Doctor is available for patients who wish to be seen.

After the arrival of your baby, please register the baby with a General Practitioner of your choice,  so that appointments can be issued for the first development check and vaccinations and a post-natal examination.

Dietician - The Practice Nurse/Doctor can refer you to this service.

Counsellor - is available at the Health Centre weekly by appointment. A referral by the Receptionist/Nurse/Doctor is necessary.

Local Pharmacist/Chemists (Primary Care Professionals)

Treatment Room Nurses
(Primary Care Professionals) Open weekdays as outlined below for dressings, ear syringing, injections, minor injuries, and advice on problems of a minor nature. On arrival in the waiting Room outside Treatment room, please take a ticket from the main Reception window so that you can assume your position in the queue.

Monday, Tuesday, and Friday: 8.30am – 6.30pm
   
Wednesday: am 8.30am – 12 noon 
Wednesday: pm 4pm - 6.30pm
   
Thursday: 8.30am – 5.30pm
   
Leg Ulcer Clinic:  Wednesdays 12pm – 4.00pm
   
Vaccines: weekdays except Wednesdays  1.00pm – 3.00pm
   
Ear syringing: Friday pm and requires an appointment. Limited to 5 per day.
 
Travel vaccinations: Monday pm and limited availability other days. Requires an appointment,  plus completion of our Travel Form.
